博士と家政婦さんとその子供のヒューマンドラマといえる本。名前のとおり数式が3人を結びつける鍵になる。 実際のところ、それなりに数学に詳しい人は、おそらく登場する数式やら公式の意味とその小説での役割に物足りなさや違和感を抱くと思う。しかし、そういうことが気になってしまう理系な貴方は読まないほうがいい。数式はあくまでも美しさや調和を比喩するスパイスで、この本は3人の人間の物語だ。 8点。

This novel is about a human story around a doctor, his house keeper and her son. A formula is the key of the story as the title of it implies. Actually, people who understand math deeply may not agree on the role of some formulas in the story. However, such storong-headed science students had better avoid reading this novel. They can't understand these beautiful human stories using formulas as a metaphor for beauty and harmony however accurately they interpret the semantics of them.
