MS と Vodafone、モバイル Web サービス標準化で提携

MS と Vodafone、モバイル Web サービス標準化で提携だそうだ。
提携の狙いは、モバイル Web サービス向けに様々なアプリケーションの開発に取り組んでいるソフトウェア開発者を支援すること。両社が標準化を目指す規格は、そうしたアプリケーションに埋め込まれる「メッセージング」「位置特定」「認証」「決済」などに関連するものだ。
ちなみに、これに対してある程度かぶる取り組みとしては、Liberty Allianceがある。これはSun, Nokia, NTT Docomo,Visaなどが音頭を取っている。 また、いつもの構図だなあ。

Microsoft affiliates Vodafone on the subject of the standardization of mobile web services

The article says,"Their goal is to support software developpers of applications using mobile web services. They intend to publish specifications relate to common function-sets for such services, like messaging, location-notification, authentication and settlement."

As you know or don't, Liberty Alliance is an alliance close to this. Sun, Nokia,VISA and NTT DoCoMo take the initiative among it. That's an incidental opposition.
